- Clean up. The area needs to be dry and clean before proceeding.
- Apply and scrape. Put on your gloves and soak a cotton ball or pad in acetone or nail polish remover. Apply the cotton to the excess glue for 5 to 10 minutes. When it feels like it’s starting to loosen, use a razor blade, plastic scraper, or putty knife to scrape off the glue. Be careful not to scratch the surface.
- Wipe and repeat as necessary. With most of the glue removed from the surface, repeat the above steps as necessary to eliminate any remaining residue.
